Nokia unveiled the much awaited 41MP camera phone last month that was being sold via AT&T. The phone received decent ratings from people around US; however, it still isn’t selling like hot cakes. The only thing that has caused the demand to fall is its high price tag.
The phone is available for $299.99 with a 2-year contract, a price in which you can get smartphone that may offer users with better specifications.
According to the folks at BGR, AT&T
has reduced the price of Lumia 1020 to $199.99 with a 2-year contract in some parts of the country – that is $100 less than its original price. The report claims that this price is available at some places in Floride as well as a few Southeastern states. It is also confirmed by an AT&T spokesman who confirmed the price drop and mentioned that it’s a small scale, limited time promotion.
The price listed in the store is still $299.99 but it appears as AT&T expected a little too much from the device. There are no official sales number released as of now but I think the device didn’t get the same response Nokia and AT&T thought it would get. Now, AT&T’s is trying to attract customers to buy the device by offering a lower price, and if the outcome of this promotion is positive, the carrier may extend it to other parts of US. However, no such details are available as of now.
